In-house Library Technology

Public Computers and Wireless Access

The Library has computer stations with Internet access available for public use. Computers are available in the Information Services department for persons 14 years and older or in the Youth and Children’s department for children 13 and younger, with parental permission. Patrons may reserve a computer for a single 1-hour session per day. Express computers are available for 15-minute sessions.  

Wireless Access: The wireless network is available during normal operating hours. 

Printing: Printing is 25 cents per page in black and white or 75 cents per page in colour  

Scanning: Scanners are available for use at CPL.  

Faxing: Faxing is available at $1 per page local, $2 per page long distance, and $3 per page international  

Specialized Equipment 

  • Microfilm reader 
  •  CCTV reader 
  • AWE Station  
  • ZoomText PCs: provide screen magnification software and larger screens.


Technology you can borrow 

Laptops: Laptops are available for Cornwall Public Library patrons to borrow for 3-hour loan periods. They are checked-out from and checked-in at the Circulation Desk. Laptops may only be used on the premises. 

Library of things: Did you know that you may borrow “things” other than books, DVDs, or games at the library? How about a portable sewing machine, virtual reality headset, even a mini robot ball! Borrowing is free with your library card. Simply enter Library of Things in the search field of our catalogue.
