Program Description

Body

This is an online event.

The National Truth and Reconciliation Day was created to recognize and reflect on the residential schools and their lasting scars on the indigenous communities of Canada. From the 1870s to 1997 over 150,000 First Nations, Inuit and Metis children were forced to attend. The Cornwall Public Library and Centre de santé communautaire de l'Estrie would like to commemorate this day, and provide an event for the Cornwall community to reflect on the past.

We will be showing the below listed short films and a longer movie that anyone can view provided by the National Film Board of Canada. The films will be available to view all day on September 30th.
