THIS WEEK'S ACTIVITY IS: BOAT RACE SCIENCE
Using the knowledge of buoyancy, lift and aerodynamics through presentation and library resources, children will experiment with creating efficient paper boats that will compete in timed races. An assortment of materials will be available such as: tape, scissors, and things like straws, dowels, and different weights of paper for making masts and sails. The races will be conducted in a long tub filled with water, and straws to blow the boats across their maiden voyage.
