Autumn Registration Opens on August 21.

Welcome to the Cornwall and Regional Writers Society!

We are a welcoming, library-based writers’ circle that supports creative expression, skill development, and community building for writers in and around Cornwall, Ontario. 

The new season begins on September 21, 2026, and will continue until June 21, 2027. Registration (mandatory) opens on August 21. Limited spaces available, no drop-ins accepted. Registrations are on a first-come, first-served basis.

Overview of the Society's Activities

The society convenes on the third Monday evening of each month, with the exception of July, August, and any holidays that fall on a Monday. These meetings are part of an ongoing series designed to foster engagement among members.

Community Focus:

The society prioritizes encouragement, creativity, and mutual support over competition, creating an inclusive atmosphere for all participants.

Writing and Feedback:

Members are invited to share their own work and engage in constructive discussions. This practice promotes a collaborative environment where feedback is both welcomed and encouraged.

Creative Growth:

To stimulate creative exploration, the society may introduce topics or prompts, allowing writers to experiment with different styles or genres and venture beyond their usual comfort zones.

Eligibility:

The society is open to adults and older teens, generally ages 16 and up.

Experience Level:

All individuals with an interest in writing and learning are welcome, regardless of their experience level, from novices to published authors.

Participation Guidelines:

Registration is required to join. Once the group reaches capacity, a waiting list will be maintained for interested participants.
