Accessibility

The library building is fully accessible with an entry ramp and automatic doors at the Sydney Street entrance, and an elevator. The library has a wheelchair available for in-library use and a reaching device.

The library collection includes alternate formats such as large print, audiobooks on CD, DAISY format talking books, and downloadable eAudiobooks which can be accessed using the Ontario Library Service Download Centre.

The library has a partnership with the CNIB and CELA (Centre for Equitable Library Access) that allows public libraries to expand their existing services for patrons with print disabilities. Contact the Adult Information Services department at 613-932-4796 for more information.
 
The library has an assistive technology workstation with a touch screen, screen reading software, print magnification software, a track-ball mouse, large print keyboard and hydraulic height adjustable desk.  The library also has a CCTV reader.  

Service Animals are welcome in the library and in programs. Support persons are welcome to attend programs with their clients. There is no charge for a support person’s attendance.

A Visiting Library Service is available for those who are physically unable to come to the library due to ill health or disability.
