Community Access Program (CAP) - History

The official launch of the Cornwall Public Library CAP site took place in October 1998. During the first year, the Library offered public access to the Internet on its CAP computers. In October 1999, the Library launched the Cornwall Public Library Web Site. Currently, the Library offers public Internet access on 17 computers (ten of which are sponsored through CAP). Twelve stations are available in the Adult Information Services area on the first floor of the library. Five stations are available in the Young Adult and Children's library on the second floor. Stations must be booked. Users are allowed one session of one hour per day. Printing is 20 cents per page.

The Government of Canada provides funding for this initiative.
